The INKreators Blog Hop- One Sheet Wonder

We’re back for another INKreators Blog Hop and rather than showcasing particular stamps or product we’ll using a technique – One Sheet Wonder.

If you’re already on the hop then you’ve arrived here from LoveLifeLauren and I’m sue she had something wonderful to inspire you.  If you’ve started here then welcome I hope you enjoy today’s showcase.

With this technique we had the option to either use DSP or make our own – I chose to make my own background paper using this month’s new exclusive and limited time bundle Thoughtful Branches.

I’ve used the single leaf and I think it’s a small branch, a bit like holly berries, and a sheet of A4 vanilla cardstock to make my own DSP.  The leaf was stamped in Wild Wasabi ink and the branch in Real Red.   Now I got a bit ahead of myself and chopped up my stamped background before I photographed it but here is a small piece I had left over.  You should still be able to get an idea of what the whole piece looked like.

From there it was just a matter of cutting up the sheet to fit my cards.

My first two cards feature some more stamps from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set.  There are a total of 23 stamps in this set with a great mix of images and sentiments.  It also lends itself well to Christmas projects with some great tree images and those cute little birds.

For my third project I decided on a Z fold card.  These are incredibly popular right now, I’ve been seeing them all over the Pinterest.  The stamp set is a new hostess set from the Annual Catalogue called Time of Year.

Once again thanks for stopping by and make sure you hop on over to Liv Ingle to see what great projects she has to created for you this month.

Don’t forget the gorgeous Thoughtful Branches bundle is only available this month or while stock lasts so get in quick to be sure you don’t  miss out.  Onee stock has depleted it will no longer be available for purchase.  If you earnt Bonus Days coupons in July you can use them towards this bundle.  Click here and order yours now before they’re gone.

The INKreators Blog Hop – New Annual Catalogue

Hello again!  Well we are a full month into the new 2016 Annual Catalogue and how good is it!  Fabulous stamps, gorgeous papers and some incredible new dies and thinlits plus some really cool tools.

So a new catalogue means a new blog hop to show them off.   You may have started here or are joining me from the wonderfully talented Lauren Matthews.  Either way welcome and enjoy this month’s hop.

For my projects I decided to showcase the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set (pg 156) and the Playful Palette paper(pg 174) and washi tape (pg 179).  I may of snuck in the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits too!  I love that this paper features 3 of the new in-colours – Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.

Being the owner operator of two teenage boys I find lots of my gift giving these days is done in the form of gift cards – who knows what to buy teenage boys right!  So first up is a neat little double pocket pouch perfect for gift cards and a simple note.  I first saw this project featured on Dawn Olchefske’s blog last year and I’ve been making them ever since.  You can find her post and instructions here.

For my second project I’ve made a card to go with the gift card.  I give lots of cards in person these days so the Mini Treat bags make perfect envelopes for a single layer notecard.   I wanted to add some pattern and texture to the notecard without adding too much bulk and what better way to do that than with Washi tape.  Did I already tell you how muck I love the range of colours featured in the Playful Palette paper stack.

All the sentiments from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set (pg 159) work just as well for cards as they do for gift giving and packaging.  I’ve added the swirly die from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits (pg 196) cut from Basic Black cardstock as a highlight to the Happy Day sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you found something to spark your creative mojo.  Please leave me a comment I’d love to hear what you think.  Make sure you hop on over to the fabulous Liv Ingle I’m sure she has something super in store for you.

Happy Stamping

Inkreators Blog Hop – Hostess with the Mostess

INKreations Blog Hop-004

It’s October!  Can you believe it?  I’ve been so busy this last month I’ve no idea where the time has gone.  I wish I could say that it’s all been stamping but sadly not.  But I did find time to put together some projects for this month’s Inkreators Blog Hop.

If you’ve  arrived from Love Life Lauren then you would have already seen her beautiful work using the Stampin’ Reward set Best Thoughts – weren’t they just gorgeous.  If you’ve started the Hop here then welcome and I hope you see something that gets your creative mojo going.

I don’t have a lot of hostess sets -maybe it’s because they’re at the back of the catalogue which means I’ve already blown my budget by the time I get there lol!  So many beautiful Stampin’ Up! products it’s hard to stay on budget.    But when I saw this beautiful Stampin’ Rewards set  Happy Birthday Everyone I just knew I had to have it.  It’s such a versatile stamp set with lots of coordinating sentiments perfect for everyone.

I’ll be celebrating birthdays with some some wonderful women over the next few weeks so the “to an amazing woman” sentiment was perfect for this gift card holder.

Here’s a view of what the card inside looks like.  I’ve stapled a strip of the Watermelon Wonder designer series paper across the bottom to form a small pocket for my gift card.  The fancy little Cucumber Crush scroll underneath the pocket is from the Tin of Cards set.

These sentiments work perfectly on their own or paired with the large Happy Birthday image.  Here’s one paired with the “Thanks” from the Hello You Thinlits and the gorgeous butterfly from the Butterlies Thinlits.  I’ve been seeing a lot of cards lately with backgrounds using the watercolour wash technique.  If you’ve never done one before you should give it a go.  It’s very simple and you’re only limited by your imagination.  I just used the one colour here – Watermelon Wonder – but you can use as many or as few as you like.

You can find a complete list of supplies at the bottom of this post.

So there you have it.  I hope you enjoyed my creations and I look forward to seeing you back next month when will be getting into some “Gift Packaging” just in time for Christmas.  Next stop on the hop is Laura.  Enjoy xx

Wild…….about you!

Every stamper needs a good alphabet in there collection…. for me it’s the new Layered Letters Alphabet.  One of the things I like the most about the set is the fun circle and rectangle splotches which you can use on their own or combined with the letters for a funky art look.

I think I have already used this set more than any other alphabet set I’ve ever had in my stash.

Today’s card was a bit of a whim.  I have been itching to use new Go Wild paper stack I picked up from the Weekly Deals a couple of weeks ago but didn’t have a project in mind.   Layered Letters was still on my craft desk from a previous project so I decided to combine the two.  This card has a distinctly masculine feel  (look out Mr Mac) but  would work just as well in softer colours for a feminine look.

Inkreators Blog Hop – Pretty Petals

Welcome to the first ever Inkreator’s Blog Hop.  If you’re joining me from Love Life Lauren then no doubt you will have already been inspired by the uber talented Lauren Matthews or if  you’re starting here then make sure you hop all the way round just follow the link at the end of this post.

Each month we will be showcasing one particular product, tool or theme using current Stampin’ Up! product.

First up this month is the Pretty Petals designer series paper.  I love the bold flower patterns but if you prefer a smaller more generic pattern then the reverse side of these papers will be right up your alley.  It comes in the new 15.2 x15.2 cm stacks which are perfect for card making and have a coordinating cardstock pack – and this week your in luck the Pretty Petals stack is on sale in the Weekly Deals.

My first card for you today features the paper in a wide banner behind my stamped image.  I’ve kept the layout simple which allows the flower, from the set Remarkable You, to be the focal point.  The flower was stamped in Staz-on on watercolour paper then coloured using Calypso Coral ink.   A custom envelope finishes it all off.  How I love that matchy matchy feeling when you  line the envelope with coordinating paper.  I think it satisfies my OCD tendencies!

This next card definitely didn’t turn out like I saw it in my head.  Does this ever happen to you?  I’d planned to use one of the bolder floral patterns but to be honest it was just too busy.  So I just turned the paper over and used the reverse pattern which in retrospect I think I like more.  The flowers are from a 2-step set called Wild About Flowers and coordinate well with several of the Pretty Petals designs.

That’s it from me today.  Make sure you hop on over to Laura Browning’s blog, I’m sure she has something fabulous to inspire you.  Don’t forget to leave a little comment love on the way.

ESAD 2013-14 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog and thank you for joining us for the ESAD 2013-14 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue Blog Hop.  Today the ESAD girls are excited to introduce to you a range of projects designed to inspire you with ideas for the products available in our new catalogue.

My projects today showcases the new Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper, coordinating Washi Tape and the fabulous pressed clay and silicone moulds.  When I first saw this paper I was reminded of two things, picnics on a sunny day and washing blowing in the breeze.

Check out those fabulous little clothes pegs from the Tag a Bag Gift Tags and the Gingham Garden Washi Tape holding up my clothes line.  I love Washi Tape – you’ll be seeing lots of it in the future I’m sure there are so many ways to use it.

Garden DSP

Keeping  the washing theme I’ve used some plain wooden clothes pegs here to construct a fridge magnet for bills or notes.  I covered the pegs with you guessed it ……..Washi Tape.  The sweet little flowers were made using Stampin’ Up!’s new pressed clay, a moulding clay you press into a silicone mould then leave to air dry.  Voila –  your own embellishments.  They make the perfect addition to your projects especially since you can make them in coordinating colours using reinkers.  I had so much fun I couldn’t stop making them.  I have tons of flowers now they will last all year.

Gingham Garden Fridge Magnet

My next project were these sweet paper lanterns.  You might remember making these in primary school….I do.

Gingham Garden Lanterns

As I mentioned earlier the first thought to come to mind when I saw the Gingham Garden DSP was picnics.  I suspect it has something to do with the melon mambo gingham stripes which reminds me of tablecloths you might put down under a picnic basket.  I thought these cute little lanterns would look perfect hanging around the garden on a summers day.   I had every  intention of photographing these all strung up in my garden but unfortunately the weather here in Melbourne today was not that kind.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects today.  Remember products from the new annual are available to order from today.  If you’d like to order drop me a line or alternatively you can order through my on-line store.

The next stop is the talented Juliette Chapman at Jules Krafti Krafts stop number 2 on the ESAD blog hop.  Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you here again soon.
