Sale-a-bration has finally arrived and what better way to celebrate than with a Blog Hop.  So slip off your sling backs, grab yourself a summer beverage and come join me as we take a look at the awesome projects featured by our ESAD members.

What is ESAD

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

Now onto my projects.  First up for you I have a cute little draw box with an easel calendar on top and some 4 x 4 notecards inside.

I have used the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment dsp and co-ordinating brads for this desk set.   I love the ‘vintage’ look of these papers with the muted colours and sponged edges and they coordinate beautifully with some of this year’s in-colours – Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  These are new additions to the exclusive Sale-a-bration range and are available for free when you order over $100 in regular merchandise between 24 January and 31 March.

Of course as well as the paper and accessories there are also exclusive stamps.  I have used the flower image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set on my easel calendar and the set of 4×4 notecards that fit inside the little draw.

The last item in the set is a post-it note holder with a magnetic flower fridge magnet and decorated pen.  I have used a 5×7 acrylic photo frame which I picked up in a two pack from my local $2 store.  These are super easy to decorate and make a lovely quick gift.  I always have a few of the frames on hand just in case.

The flower on the left side is magnetic and and was cut from the Fun Flowers Bigz Die.  The image in the centre is another stamp from the Fresh Vintage set attached with another of those delicious brads.  I am so much in love with these little things I think I will have to buy another $100 of stamps just so I can get me some more.

Here’s a close up of one individually.

I used the large doily from the Perfect Pennants die for my base and added a treat cup to the centre. Inside the cup is a Christmas tree from the Pennant Parade stamp set, stamped in Wild Wasabi. I used the coordinating punch but had to trim the tree slightly to fit inside the treat cup. The snow is actually “dessicated coconut” not in my Stampin’ Up! catty but easily found in most pantries.
Some Poppy Parade ribbon finished it off just nicely I think.
I made 40 of these to swap but would have loved to have made more. There were so many beautiful swaps on the day I just wished I could have them all. I will try and post a few of my favourites this week.

You will be making 6 cards, 2 each of 3 designs, using the lovely “Welcome Christmas” stamp set.  The class fee of $20 includes all materials, in kit form, as well as envelopes for your completed cards.  All you need to bring is your own adhesive (snail/tape runner or double sided tape) .  If you have the basic tools (scissors, bone folder, ruler, pencil) then feel free to bring them along and that way you won’t have to wait to share class tools.

The class is suitable for beginners to advanced stampers, no previous experience is necessary.

I will be closing the class at 9pm on Tuesday 20th Sept (unless filled prior) so that I can prepare your kits in time for the class.  If  this is your first time attending one of my classes I will provide you with my address when you reserve your spot.

With all the fabulous new products in the 2011-12 Idea Book and Catalogue I found it extremely difficult to decide what to feature in today’s “hop”.  Eventually I decided I would focus on a theme using a number of products rather than a particular stamp set or accessory.

Is it  too early for Halloween?  Never!  I know we don’t generally celebrate Halloween here in Australia but I love it and particularly enjoy making lots of  spooky treats.  I have a few different projects to show you today so let’s get on with it.

All the projects today use the new Frightful Sight Designer Series paper which co-ordinates beautifully with my green and black jelly beans don’t you think.  It has lots of gorgeous designs with ghosts, bats, spiders and cats plus some more contemporary designs for those not so “halloweeny” projects.

The first project I’m calling my “BOO” card.  The banner has been cut using the new Petite Pennants Builder punch and letters cut with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies and my Big Shot.  You may also notice the new designer brads in Lucky Limeade, one of this year’s new In-Colours.

  The second project is this cute treat pouch which you can use for lots of different things…I decided to go with a “spooky spider” skinny treat with those matching jelly beans.

The punch-art spider is super easy.  Just punch 7 shapes from the Ornament punch for the body and the legs are made from the Large Heart Punch…add googly eyes and your done!

My final project is a “Choccie ” holder.  I made lots of these last year at Christmas and put all sorts of different things in the pouches.  Gifts cards or money work well.  The pouch is just a piece of the “Frightful Sight’ DSP, cut to 15 cm and folded up 5cm to create your pouch.  Then you fold your whole piece in half and in half again to give you the four pockets.  Sandwich the whole thing between two Top Note die shapes on the front and back and close with ribbon.  The “Happy Halloween” greeting is from the “Occasional Greetings” set, it’s not a new one this year but is a great set if you’re looking for greetings for many different occasions.
