Every Easter needs a bunny!

Today I wanted to share with you the Easter projects made last week by my Stamp Club ladies.  Everyone got to choose their own colours and I’m always amazed at how different each one turns out to be.  Unfortunately I forgot to photograph their finished projects so you’ll have to be satisfied with the ones I made.

I usually try and design a project “set” and generally include a 3D item.  This month we used the gorgeous Everybunny easter set.  This set has a great selection of bunnies and is perfect for watercolouring.

Everybunny Stamp Club projects

The little 3×3 card (actually I think mine ended up being 9 x 9cm) is called a “twisted easel” and is a super easy.  It folds flat for posting but adds a quirky feel to what might be an otherwise run of the mill notecard.  I used the larger square on the scallop duo die for layering my card front and it co-ordinates well with the scallop oval behind the sentiment.  The little rabbit was stamped with black Staz-on and coloured with markers.  However I did use my aquabrush (very sparingly) and a Crumb Cake ink pad to add some shading to the bunny’s body.

Now I just need to package up some eggs for the box and I’ll have a cute gift for a special someone this Easter.

Credit where credit is due…..

Wow what a fantastic ESAD Blog Hop we had yesterday, the ladies really outdid themselves don’t you agree.  If you haven’t had the chance to take a look I’d urge you to grab a cuppa and take a wander.

Before I move on to anything else I have a matter I need to clear up from yesterday’s post.  One of the comments I received drew my attention to the fact that I had failed to properly credit a fellow demonstrator for her work.  Lots of hard work and effort goes into creating projects and everyone deserves due credit for their ideas and rightly so.

The cute little tea bag holder I posted yesterday was shown to me recently by a customer of mine (waving to you Cynthia) who learnt it at a class she attended at her local scrapbook store.

I have no idea where they got there “inspiration” but a similar project was recently demo’d at Leadership in the US by Debi Pippen.  You can see here beautiful set of tea bag holders here.  She was much more organised and has cookies in hers too.

I have amended my post from yesterday with credit to Debi (and my friend Cynthia).  I sincerely apologise to anyone who feels aggrieved by my inadvertent lack of credit, it was not intentional.

I will pop by in later with another project for you.

ESAD Autumn/Winter Mini Blog Hop

Today might be April Fool’s Day but be assured there is no “foolin” with Stampin’ Up!’s new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. Let’s face it who doesn’t love a new catalogue, all those lovely new products to play with but I actually think this is my favourite so far………seriously if you don’t believe me follow today’s ESAD Autumn/Winter Mini Blog Hop and decide for yourself. I know the ESAD girls have all been working hard to bring you a gorgeous selection of projects showcasing lots of new goodies available from today.

You may have come here from the awesomely talented Tanya Bell or you may be a regular visitor, either way welcome and I hope you stay awhile and enjoy the projects I have for you today.

Before I move on let me tell you a little bit about ESAD.

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now on to my project. I really love tea cups so when I saw the Tea Shoppe stamp set and Twitterpated Designer Series Paper I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and here’s what I came up with.

Did you notice those gorgeous layered frames on the card? They are a new range to Stampin’ Up! and mark my words you will be seeing lots of these. They are called “framelits” and this particular one is the “Labels Collection”. They are so easy to use, just place them over your design or straight on to DSP or cardstock and run them through the Big Shot. Voila!

I have to credit Becky Roberts with the design for this card. Other than tweaking the patterned paper and some changes to the ribbon I have cased it almost to a tea (yes a pun I know). Why mess with perfection I say.

Next up is the cute tea caddy which dispenses tea bags from the base – Twinnings Russian Caravan in this case. Note the gorgeous pleated ribbon around the centre of the caddy, absolutely delish! It comes in four colours – Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Riding Hood Red. I made some paper roses with my fancy flower punch and some blushing bride cardstock for the top of the caddy.

My final project was this cute little tea bag and cookie holder shown to me by my friend Cynthia (Hi Cyn).  This type of holder was also demo’d by Debi Pippen at Leadership in the US in January.  You can see Debi’s cute little holders here.

It’s made from a single sheet of 12×12 Twitterpated DSP and is double sided with room for a teabag, a small 3×3 notecard and a cookie, or some other treat, in the centre. I used another new product called “Edgelits” to cut the gorgeous scalloped border on the bottom of the notecard.

Well that’s it from me today. I hope you love the “Tea Shoppe” stamp set as much as I do now hop along and see what wonderful creations Jane Norrish has in store for you. Remember to leave a little comment love for the designers as you travel so they know you’ve visited.

It’s raining men…….Hallelujah

Do you ever get a song stuck in your head and just can’t get rid of it. Well that’s how I happened upon the title of today’s post. It’s not really raining men but they are the focus of my stamp-a-stack this week.
This month’s cards all use the Nautical Expedition paper range and Open Sea stamp set from the current Summer mini catalogue. This range is perfect for masculine or travel themed projects and is my latest go to set when I’m designing for men.

We will be making two each of the three designs (envelopes included ) for just $20. You will need to bring along your own adhesive or you can purchase some from me on the night.

So if you struggle with this genre or would just like to have some cards on hand for the man (or men) in your life then email me to reserve  your spot for the class next Wednesday 21st March @ 7.30pm.

Till then……..Happy Stamping

Quick and Simple

You can never have enough thank you cards.  Do you agree?  Today’s quick and simple card doesn’t need a lot of explanation or time for that matter.

The row of paper squares from the Everyday Enchantment DSP were punched using the new Postage Punch available in the current Summer Mini Catalogue.   It’s a great way to use up those scraps left over from larger projcets. I originally intended to use just squares but the pretty edge detail of this punch just gave it an extra lift.

I really love the sentiments from the Outlined Occasions Sale-a-bration set and you can tie them in with any colour scheme just with your markers.  A quick and easy option.

I have seen lots of versions of this card recently while I’ve been blogging.  I’d love to see yours too.  So if you make one of these leave me a comment so I can pop on by and have a look.

It’s all Double Dutch to me.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.  I know it seems a long time ago now but I’ve been off for a couple of months spending some quality time with family and friends.  It’s been a busy time but now I’m back at work and the kids are back at school and it’s time to kick off again for 2012.

I was really excited to start the year off with a new Stamp Club group – well kinda new, it was made up of some of my regular girls and some new ones.  Not all the girls could make it on our first meeting, such a shame but we had a great night anyway.  I thought I would share with you the projects we made on the night.

We used the Sale-a-bration stamp set Fresh Vintage as well as the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment designer series paper.  These were my samples but the girls chose there own colours and papers on the night.  I am always amazed at how different projects can look just by changing the papers, I wish I had taken photos of them all so you could see for yourself.

The card is a fold called a “Double Dutch” fold and has these cute little doors that open up at the bottom.  I suppose their real purpose is to help your card stand up but they remind me of small “barn doors”.

I used  Top Note die for the gift card holder and cut it on the fold to make a pocket to slip the card inside.  This is a really nice way to jazz up your packaging for gift cards and makes a nice alternative to a regular envelope.  You will have to excuse the gift card in the sample, I “borrowed” it from my youngest son for demonstration purposes.  I’ve already spent all the nice ones I got for Christmas but I always forget to keep the card.

I have lots more Sale-a-bration projects to show you so make sure you come back.

ESAD Sale-a-bration Blog Hop

Sale-a-bration has finally arrived and what better way to celebrate than with a Blog Hop.  So slip off your sling backs, grab yourself a summer beverage and come join me as we take a look at the awesome projects featured by our ESAD members.

You may be joining the Hop here or from the very talented Felicity Fernandez  either way ‘welcome aboard’.  I hope that you enjoy the projects and that you are all inspired to hit your craft rooms and “Sale-a-brate!”

What is ESAD

Now onto my projects.  First up for you I have a cute little draw box with an easel calendar on top and some 4 x 4 notecards inside.

I have used the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment dsp and co-ordinating brads for this desk set.   I love the ‘vintage’ look of these papers with the muted colours and sponged edges and they coordinate beautifully with some of this year’s in-colours – Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  These are new additions to the exclusive Sale-a-bration range and are available for free when you order over $100 in regular merchandise between 24 January and 31 March.

Of course as well as the paper and accessories there are also exclusive stamps.  I have used the flower image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set on my easel calendar and the set of 4×4 notecards that fit inside the little draw.

The last item in the set is a post-it note holder with a magnetic flower fridge magnet and decorated pen.  I have used a 5×7 acrylic photo frame which I picked up in a two pack from my local $2 store.  These are super easy to decorate and make a lovely quick gift.  I always have a few of the frames on hand just in case.

The flower on the left side is magnetic and and was cut from the Fun Flowers Bigz Die.  The image in the centre is another stamp from the Fresh Vintage set attached with another of those delicious brads.  I am so much in love with these little things I think I will have to buy another $100 of stamps just so I can get me some more.

Here is a close up of the flower magnet just so you can see that brad in all it’s glory!

Click here if you would like to view the complete Sale-a-bration catalogue or alternatively if you’d like your own copy contact me and I’ll pop one in the mail for you.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects today now you can hop on over to Kelly’s blog.  I know she has something gorgeous in store for you.  Don’t forget to leave the girls a little comment ‘love’ as you travel around,  I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to hear from you.
