What’s in the tin?

Posted in 3-D Projects, Scrappin Kits, Stampin’ Up!® at 11:36 pm by Michelle Grech

Despite having bronchitis for the last week or so I had a wonderful long weekend.  My darling friend (and upline) Kerri and her husband came for the weekend.  We had a great Saturday morning shopping at Pumpkin Patch for Kerri’s grandaughter and my boys.  At one stage I was in the boys section and looked across to the girls section in search of Kerri but all I could see the top of her head behind a pile of clothes.  Boy did we do some damage.  Then we raced home to get ready for team stamping on the Saturday afternoon.

Sunday and Monday were spent stamping, drinking coffee and just generally playing while the guys looked after this kids and watched several episodes of Rescue Me.  They were really wonderful to let us spend so much uninterrupted time together.   It was so much fun I was sad to see them go but really looking forward to the next time.  Who would have thought when I joined Stampin” Up! that we would make such wonderful friends.  It’s just one of the many benefits of being a demonstrator.

While she was here Kerri told me about this great idea she got from one of her customers for decorating ring pull cans.  At first I was skeptical so we  took a trip to the supermarket and bought ring pull cans in lots of different sizes to take home and “experiment”.   Here is a picture of my finished sample.

And here is the top view, decorated with some groovy guava ribbon and embellishments from the Secret Garden Scrappin Kit.

I decided to fill it with a few small goodies such as an incentive stamp, chipboard, buttons etc.  I would show you show you a photo if I had one  but I got so excited about the finished product that I gave it to my hostess at last night’s workshop and forgot to photograph it first.

Now if you’re curious about how we filled the can then leave me a comment and I’ll tell you how.

Feels like Asian

Posted in Cards, Stampin’ Up!® at 9:24 pm by Michelle Grech

When I popped by yesterday to post the retired litst I realised it has been awhile since I posted anything.   I haven’t had a chance to do a lot of stamping in the last few weeks, with Matt away fighting fires I have been busy keeping things ticking over on the home front.

Since I haven’t stamped much lately here’s a card using the “Embrace Life” set from the Summer Mini Catalogue which the girls made at Stamp-a-Stack.  I really like the Asian feel of this set with the bamboo and the cherry blossoms.

The large flower has been stamped on a piece of Ginger Blossom patterned paper and then cut out.  The cherry blossoms were coloured using a blender pen and a Groovy Guava ink pad.   I didn’t have any half backed pearls from the Pretties Kit left so I just used some out of my stash, I think they are Kaiser.

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS: Embrace Life INK: Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip PAPER: Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Groovy Guava, Very Vanilla, Ginger Blossom DSP ACCRSSORIES: River Rock doubled stitched ribbon, blender pen, Kaiser half back pearls

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:00 am by Michelle Grech

To make room for all the new yummy products that will be out on 1 April 2009 Stampin” Up! “retires” a number of stamps and accessories from their current catalogue.  The list is known as the “Retired List” which can be downloaded here.  The list is long but don’t be fooled the products disappear really quickly so make sure you get in quick if there is anything you would like before it disappears for good.  You will notice that some of the stamps sets are discounted by at least 25 -50% this year which means great savings for you.  Just email me michellegrech@netspace.net.au if you would like to order anything or give me a call on 0419 340918 before it sells out!
