It’s time to go……?
Stampin” Up! have published their “retired list” and all the items below will be disappearing from the current catalogue. It’s so sad…some are just my absolute favourites. But you know what? I’m sure there will be lots of super yummy new stamps when the new catalogue comes out on April 1st. If you would like to order any of these sets you better be quick as they are in short supply. Those items in red have already been snapped up and those in yellow will be gone soon. Here’s to the French
Following on from the awesome Carte Postale set featured in my last post I had to try a little something with the gorgeous French Flair background stamp available in the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalogue. French Flair is designed to coordinate with the Carte Postale set as well as the beautiful Enchante Designer Series Papers. I love the little swallow on this stamp it’s so sweet. 
The box is cased from one of the many resources available to Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. The French Flair is stamped in Not Quite Navy on Sahara Sandcardstock and the swallow was out of the Carte Postaleset along with the Mon Amie sentiment. I love the way everything is designed to work together. Makes coordinating a breeze especially when your stamping mojo has been buried deep after a long day at the office.

Carte Postale – Summer Mini Catalogue
I have to say that I’ve totally fallen in love with this set. I admired it from afar in the US catty and was over the moon when it turned up in the our Summer Mini Catalogue. It’s a very versatile set and with 11 stamps for $49.95 it’s a bargain.
I decided to use it for this month’s Technique Class along with some inspiration from the very talented Michelle Zindorf. The girls did some Emboss Resist with the flourish and the swallow (a personal favourite) on Whisper White cardstock and then brayered over the top with Sage Shadow ink. The A la carte leaves were stamped around the edge using Not Quite Navy ink. Add some ribbon and bling, mount it again on Whisper White and then on to your black card. Stamp just the tip of the flourish around all four sides of the card and highlight with the Signio white gel pen and voila……..
I liked the result so much we went on a made a calendar bookmark to match.

This card features the Merci set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and was cased directly from the monthly Impressions resource available to Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. It’s my favourite, just love the butterfly and the whimsy type flowers in this one.
Up and Running – Finally!
First up I have to apologise for the stilted start to my blogging. I know I logged my first post last November and promised there would be lots more shortly and that’s where it stopped. I’m not quite sure what happened, something to do with Christmas and the ensuing holidays I suppose. But they’re all been and gone now, can you believe we are already into February.
So after having been subtly (not) prompted yet again by my beautiful friend Kerri to “get my butt into gear” I have finally committed fingers to keys and here we are. It’s not actually as hard as I thought it was going to be. I kept finding all these reasons not to get started, you know – no time, no good photos of cards to post, waiting to get my Sale-a-bration stamps so that I had some current stuff. But they weren’t really reasons they were just excuses. So now I’ve started and “hopefully” will continue to post on a regular basis.
I think I’ve worked the uploading photos gig but bear with me if it all falls in a heap. After reviewing and editing some photos I think I’ve decided that I need a new digital camera, they all seem to be so blurry. Maybe it’s got something to do with the user, do you think?
Anyway here is a card I made last week for my son’s best friend’s 7th birthday. I used the balloons from the Sale-a-bration Birthday Whimsy set and lots of Dazzling Diamonds on the chipboard 7, which I inked first using a Bashful Blue ink pad. The card-stock is Certainly Celery and matched perfectly with some scraps of Basic Grey paper I had hanging around.
My effort was rewarded by a “that’s so cool mum” from my son and the birthday boy liked it as well (probably the most important thing).
